Eva' Makeover

Eva got a makeover at Saks 5th Avenue. She walked right in and climbed up to the Dior counter. Thankfully the clerk was in the mood :). Eva picked out her blush, eyeshadow, lip color and even got a spritz of perfume.

Battling with Eva Meva

I have been having a tough time with Eva at nap time. Resolving tantrums has been getting better. I have been having her take a deep breath and fold your hands and legs. And for the most part it works. She slowly calms herself down and wipes her face.

Nap time has been a nightmare. Trying to keep Eva in her bed was impossible. Keeping her in her bed without jumping, screaming or banging was totally unattainable. I have been getting so frustrated and discouraged by my lack of wisdom on how to handle it. I have pretty much had a break down almost everyday with tears.

I put a computer in her room with a video surveilance of her via skype, Justin's laptop to my netbook. That worked out OK, but she would not sleep because it only caused her to be still and very stimulated.

Well tonight I finally got a little bit of love. I took out for a walk before bed because she still had so much energy. We ran and talked about the moon and stars and she realized the sun was hiding. she sat on the grass and I sat beside her. She laid down and so did I. When she got up she came over and kissed me and brushed my hair with her hand so sweet and gently. I almost cried. She started to walk away so I sat up. She said, "You lay in the grass." She said it very sweet and gently but still motioning her hand for me to lie back down. So i did. And she came once more and gave me a kiss and gently brushed my hair with her little hand. I cried. It was so precious. Just what my heart needed.

Thumb Sucker No More

Eva has gone an entire week without sucking her thumb! Lets hope it continues. We are on the right track! She is coping well too.

Sunday School

My grandparents had the opportunity of teaching in their church recently. My grandfather taught last week and my grandmother this week. They both made me very proud! We got some good pictures of them and the girls too :).

Play Time in the Car

Eva likes to play in the car while we wait for Justin to come out of the office. The video clip is Eva on the phone with my mom.

An Old Friend!

My high school friend Atheena and I got together this week. I haven't gotten to catch up with her for 8 years!

Nap Time

I am trying to get the girls to nap at the same time. The other day I tried to have them nap at the same time in the same room. A little too ambitious but it lasted 45 minutes :). Not bad.

Mini Me

Eva is taking charge! She is taking care of the house with me! It is such a great way to get things done. When I make her apart of chores around the house she enjoys it and not only that but it also is a productive activity we can do together while still teaching her responsibility. For breakfast and lunch she puts her dishes in the sink, wipes off the table (which I usually do a follow up jog :), sweeps under the table with the power sweeper very well and then pushes her chair in. She helps me sort, start and change laundry over. She even puts the silverware away while I empty the dishwasher. Potty training is going well. Still working on #2, but she is doing really well.

Feeding her baby

We had a very nice Friday. We went for a very long walk around the area. I loved the weather this week. I love the lake with the yellow flowers. I love it when the trees leave flowers all over the ground, its like having golden grass.

A Fun Daddy Day

Last weekend I was feeling pretty terrible. I got slammed with a cold and an infection from nursing. I have recovered, but Saturday night and Sunday were pretty rough on me last week. But Justin and Eva just made the most of it and had a Daddy daughter day. Justin took Eva to the park, the pool and for a long walk to get Pizza.

Abby 1 Mo Check up

Abby had her one month check up today. She didn't get any shots, but they did attempt to do the hearing test again with no luck. They finally explained the problem: when she hears the sound in her ear she moves. Though thats great that they know she hears it they cannot get an accurate reading of the hearing level because when she moves they can't get the brain waves. So! Oh well.
