Impromptu Miami Trip

Who says I'm not a spur-of-the-moment type person? Silence, naysayers!

Aimee's cousin from Arizona was playing in a volleyball tournament down in Miami this past weekend, and she wanted to go see her play, so off we went! The tournament was exciting (and thankfully we got a cheap parking spot - otherwise the convention center parking was $15!!!)

Below are pictures of her cousin Macey in action, one of the star players on the team and probably destined for greatness in sports as you can see by her vertical leap. Also, I realized that the Miami Beach convention center was only about 6 miles from Bayside, a bayfront destination with shops and restaurants, so we decided to go there for dinner afterward. And best of all, Eva got to ride a real-life pony! Overall, a fun trip.

PEEPEE ON THE POTTY!

Tonight when Eva was done with her bath and daddy was drying her off she said, "potty" a couple of times so Justin took her to her little potty, sat her down and gave her a toy. When she got off the potty we saw that she had made a little deposit! Woohoo! Its a start!.

She's a Talker

Eva is saying several new words a day. Sometimes she repeats the last word in our sentences or just randomly remembers what we have said and says them. Today, out of the blue, she saw a cheerio on the floor and said, "cheerio". Check out this little video

A Weekend Getaway

Justin not only planned time in St. Augustine but threw in a surprise mini-reunion. We drove up to Jacksonville Saturday and saw my grandparents, brother, Dad, Uncle, and their girlfriends! It was so much fun to be with everyone. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. It was perfect. We played darts with my brother - a lot fun - and Justin even got a bullseye! The last night in St. Augustine was wonderful. It is a great getaway.

Then Sunday I was spoiled at the outlet mall and so was Eva :). Justin we love you! Thank you for taking care of your girls.

New Developements

• "What's your name?" Eva says, "Ehh-vaaa!"
• "How old are you?" Eva holds up one finger and says, "tooo"
• "ooone..." Eva says, "too, tree"
• when we get in the car and its hot, or even sometimes when its not, she says, "Hot! Hot!" She also says that about her food and blows on it before she eats it :).
• When she wants a drink of Daddy's tea she points at it and says, "teeeeea"
• She instinctively knows when we are snacking on something delicious and are trying to spare her the bad habit of poor diet choices. I'll get out cheese and she comes running, "cheeese, cheeese!". Whatever it is though she comes and stands as close as she can to us and goes back and forth from licking her upper lip and opening her mouth as wide as she can
• "Alright!" I never realized how often I say alright when I am ready to move on to the next activity until Eva started saying it all the time! She climbs onto the couch or coffee table, "alright!" she is done looking at a book, "alright!" and sets it to the side.
• First Sentence: "I want my Mommy" I was changing her when she said it while Justin was there too, I have a witness! I picked her up and she said, "milk".
• "Luv ooo" : she said in reply to daddy when he was leaving for

cunkle = uncle

A Surprise

Today Justin surprised me as a late anniversary gift.  He took us to St. Augustine!  This is one of our favorite places to go.  This is our third time and we stayed in the same place that we have stayed the other two times.  It is a beautiful b and b on the bay.  We have had a wonderful day!  We walked up and down George Street and relaxed in our room.  Eva loved walking and seeing all the kids her age and making new friends.  We ate a yummy dinner - panini's with an even better dessert - gelato's with fancy coffees.  I have had such a special day with my family.  I am so happy :)
